The story begins when a distress call reaches Dholakpur. The wise King Indravarma learns that Mayanagari—the legendary city built by the celestial architect Mayasura—has resurfaced from the netherworlds after a millennium. However, the city is no longer a marvel of art and science; it has been corrupted by a new asura (demon) named Moha (meaning "delusion"). Moha possesses the unique power to trap beings in personalized illusory worlds of their deepest desires.
