Of War Ascension Script - God

"You are nothing without Ares! He made you! He broke you! And we will remind you of your place."

Compare this to the original God of War (2005), where Kratos had a sardonic, almost noirish bitterness ( "The gods of Olympus have abandoned me" is a lament, not a threat). In Ascension , his lines are purely functional. The script forgets that a tragic hero needs moments of quiet reflection. Every scene is an argument or a fight. god of war ascension script

One of the boldest choices in the Ascension script is its restraint. Kratos speaks far less here than in God of War III . His lines are short, guttural, and functional. "You are nothing without Ares

"The beast you have become... the innocent blood on your hands... can it be washed away? Do you seek redemption, Kratos? Or merely an end to your suffering? There is no redemption for what you have done. But there is an end. Look at what you have become. A monster. A slave to the gods. But you were not always this way. Once, you were a man." And we will remind you of your place

God of War: Ascension takes place 10 years before the events of the first game. Kratos, still bound to the service of Ares, the Greek god of war, is on a quest to honor his brother, Deimos. Deimos, who was taken by Ares, was believed to be held by the Olympian gods.
