The film’s central conflict explodes when the hypnosis wears off mid-date. Hal suddenly sees Rosemary’s physical reality for the first time. He panics, flees, and has a crisis of conscience. The story follows Hal Larson (Jack Black), a man who, following his father’s deathbed advice, pursues only women who meet conventional standards of physical perfection.
