Elara moved through the Entertainment District, the belly of the beast. Here, the Rhyderylum lifestyle was tangible. Holographic dancers twirled in the smog, their pixels blurring into the mist. Restaurants served flavored air and nutrient paste, but to the patrons hopped up on "Extra Quality," it was a Michelin-star feast. They laughed with glazed eyes, their pupils dilated to pinpricks, enjoying a paradise that wasn't there.
